The strategic planning process is an exciting and energizing time for any organization. In essence, it creates opportunities for organizations to look inward and evaluate best practices and policies as they work to serve their constituents.

With proper planning and execution, a strategic planning process includes research, collection of community input, and answers to questions related to the following:

• Mission relevance

• Governance

• Fundraising

• Financial hygiene and reporting

• Review of programs, products, or services for constituents.

• Infrastructure viability

Strategic planning also gives the Executive Director, staff and board committees metrics by which to track organizational progress towards realistic goals.

Effective boards can elevate any organization to enhance visibility, fundraising, operational efficiency as well as serve as fiduciaries to the institutions they oversee. I provide governance evaluations for objective insight into the board's alignment with the organization's mission, vision, and strategic goals.

Raising money is a difficult task, and I provide information on how best to engage board members in volunteer time and fundraising activities. A clear understanding of fundraising responsibilities as well as donor management and reporting ensure adherence to fiduciary roles board members have.
